Capoeira is a Afro-Brazilian martial art that has the elements of fight and dance, along with a complex philosophy of respect, challenges and resiliency. Capoeira is rhythm and movement focusing on a ritualized fight, a conversation between players with their movement in which every game is unique. Each game is based on the players mood, music, and the energy provided by other players and participants engaged. Movements and music in Capoeira are sung and spoken in Portuguese, the language of Brazil.

Very few martial arts provide a combination of music, rhythm , language, movement, and community. Capoeira gives families a dynamic physical outlet, with new ways to move and express themselves. Families can learn and enjoy physical activities working and challenging each other in a safe, social environment.
