Gaga is the movement language invented by Ohad Naharin/ Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv, Israel (who regularly perform at the Wexner Center of the Arts. No prior dance experience necessary. James Graham, one of only a handful of Certified Gaga Teachers, will be leading these classes. The one hour class is a guided experience of images, ideas, directions, and prompts. We will float, stretch our bodies, experience physical climaxes, and take pleasure moving and dancing in a welcoming studio.

Bio
James Graham is thrilled to be entering a new chapter in his life as a Certified Gaga Teacher–certified by Ohad Naharin/Batsheva Dance Co. In 2010, he graduated from The Ohio State University with an M.F.A. in Dance, focusing on performance, choreography, and video. He graduated from UC Berkeley in 2005 with a B.A. in Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies. He has recently worked with Tino Sehgal, Joe Goode, Heather Baer, Lizz Roman, Ehrling Wold, Cid Pearlman, FACT/SF, Bebe Miller, Nik Haffner, and Amy Raymond, while also studying the work of William Forsythe and of Ohad Naharin.
His work is produced under James Graham Dance Theatre. JGDT is an entity encompassing the creative works and aspirations of James Graham. In the past year, his work has been presented at the National Queer Arts Festival, Kunst-Stoff Arts, Too Much! Festival, Joe Goode Annex, and in the Golden Gate Park National A.I.D.S. Memorial Grove. Interested in the cross-disciplinary influential power of all performing arts, fine arts, and life arts, Graham works in various disciplines to realize his artistic visions and engage his community. One can find James Graham’s influence in Dance, Theatre, Performance Art, Gender Illusionist Support, Video, and Choruses around the city, country, and world.
